- <p>Got surprised by the energy in the ECT - was seeking shallower, North facing slopes above 9K to see how they were gaining strength - think I found a particularly weak spot</p>
Pics below are the Basal Facets/Depth Hoar that is still dry and weak in this location. A large load on this layer is still a bit unnerving to think about. And an example of the heavily rimed snow from last night

- <p>many dry and wet loose snow sluffs noted on various aspects today</p> <p>It's there - not dormant yet, just inactive. Full temp profile today revealed very small gradients indicating overall strength gain - although a very slow process. With each load these layers need to be retested. Guilty until proven innocent I think </p>
Mix of small graupel and heavily rimed stellars and plates - excellent skiing on ENE
