Observation: Dry Fork of AF

Telemark travels today in Dry Fork began by experiencing a variety of crusts. On solar aspects, a stout melt freeze was present, while on north-tilting terrain, a wind board from the winds of 20231224 could be felt. In sheltered, shady terrain, loud pow could be found buried under a thin layer of new precipitation. As new snow totals reached a few inches, almost constant winds throughout the day loaded lee slopes, and, in some cases, stacked nearly a foot of wind-deposited new snow. A snowpit contained a generally strong snowpack, and November facets were only reactive to a stern shovel shear.

Rimed, wind blown precipitation particles were observed.
