Group of 3 toured across the length of center ridge to the kickstep glacier, reaching a top elevation of about 3600ft. We saw many natural avalanches on the Library. These avalanches had a wide range of sizes, types and age. Some had visible crowns, possibly from the most recent loading and wind event. Some appeared to be natural wet loose. While the group did experience one large whoomph at 2800', there were many great signs of improving stability in the snowpack, with the weak december facet layer getting buried deeper than 4ft. Pits were dug at 2800' on the West-facing ridge that leads to Kickstep glacier. CT20 SC, ECTX (x3). In the CT, the snowpack failed on the new storm snow interface, about 1.5ft deep. In the bowl of Kickstep Glacier, we saw no signs of instability and no natural avalanches.
