Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Another pleasant day at Turnagain with plenty of signs of avalanches and steep ski tracks! On our climb up to Cornbiscuit we noticed a fairly recent natural avalanche on a SW aspect that nearly ran over the skin track. We skied Cornbiscuit's SE bowl without issue, noticing a slight solar crust developing. We continued on to the summit of Grandaddy. We got isolated cracking near ridgeline while skinning. We skied the Grandaddy Chute without issue, from the top down.
Avalanche
Many crowns visible on steep faces, both from natural and human triggers. Most notable was a large natural slide near Cornbiscuit that nearly wiped out the skin track. Appeared fairly recent (last 48 hours or so).
