Quick report
Today we toured to the SE facing slopes above Marion Lake. Digging into the snow on a SE face at approximately 6200' elevation we found 1" of new snow on top of a thin crust from yesterday, which had about 5" of dry snow underneath. Underneath the dry snow was a 6" thick melt freeze crust. This crust was supportable to ski boots. Beneath the thick melt freeze crust we found moist snow. We did not see any signs of wind affected snow and winds were surprisingly calm until our exit around 1:00 pm. Coverage on the summer trail was thin (but mostly ski-able) below about 5000'.
