3-6" of new snow overnight comprised mostly of graupel. This new snow fell on a fairly widespread crust from recent warming trend and solar influence on W, S, E aspects up to 10,000'. True northerlies  (NE,N,NW) held preserved decomposed stellars under new snow. ENE aspects unfortunately developed a crust in certain locations. New snow moved easily on crusts. Found some evidence of wind loading. At ~9700' on NE aspect we triggered a small 20' wide windslab 20-30cm (8-12") deep. Not much energy moving downhill. Decent cracking in isolated wind loaded terrain. Areas where the gruapel exists will transport easily with increased wind. Winds were light out of the SW before shifting more NW by 13:00 increasing in speed and creating  snow showers. Expect another pulse of snow this afternoon/overnight. Broken cloud cover with low hanging clouds (window shopping). Not enough solar influence to affect new snow on southerlies, yet...

My eye will be on the widepsread crust as snowfall tapers off to see if any facets develop above or below it. Hopefully enough new snow fell to prevent this as we enter a period of dry weather, but time will tell.
