wind swept in most areas, there was quite a bit of dry snow in trees and on east faces of mountains. mostly wind blown off the alpine, not a huge avalanche danger, however not bonding well with crust from mid Dec. Riding was good, a lot tracked out, but fresh powder if you know where to look. Saw 2 riders riding alone in typical avy areas, not smart, we chatted and left with them later to ensure they were out ok. Please use common sense and dont ride alone, and always carry your gear, transmitter, shovel, probe, and a gps emergency contact device. Was New Years Day, temps went from morning -20 to afternoon -12. solar issues were non existent but could pose problems with warming temps.
