Quick report

The approach/return on Stevens Peak is getting tougher down low, but coverage in the upper east bowl remains solid, and the corn was pretty ripe around 10:30 this morning between 9600-8600'. Much later than that and the ~ 3 inches of frozen supportable crust at the surface would likely have melted enough to fully weaken and instead of skiing fun corn, it would have been a foot or so of heavy mank. Clouds today were variable. Occassionally the sky overhead would darken and the temperature would drop, but a few minutes later bright sun and spring warmth would return. Cloud cover seemed to be decreasing as I left the area around 11am. Snow coverage below about 8300' is spotty but with luck it's possible to stay on snow until pretty close to Hwy 88.
