Quick report

Cracking
isolated

Skied on north facing aspects above silver star gate. Below about 4000-42000ft (in the cloud deck) temps were quite warm and surface conditions were very saturated; lots of tree bombs. Above that sky was mostly clear during the day with much drier surface conditions, and moderate ridge top winds.. Dug a hasty pit at 5k on N facing aspect down to the AR layer. HS 150, CTN. No layers were isolated above the AR crust which sat at 50cm. Snow column was well bonded to AR crust. 150-130cm F, 130-100cm 4F , 100-50cm 1F hardness, all in various stages of rounding. By late afternoon shallow windslabs were forming on leeward aspects, 5cm in depth with isolated cracking. Excellent ski quality
