Quick report

No red flags for recent avalanches, precipitation, wind, cracking/collpsing/whumphing or rapid warming. Weather was as forecast. However, isolated pockets of buried surface hoar were identified 15 to 40 cms below the surface. The group on the East face below Hamburger Hill at 5225 elev on an East face had: CT 2 RP down 15 on buried surface hoar as well as CT 14 RP down 43 on buried surface hoar

With the rain crust down 2 cms, there was little snow available for transport. Even throughout the day with some calm winds, that new snow stayed on top of the crust. Weather was as forecast.

Snowpack

We are still seeing strong layers over weak layers within the snowpack. It remains to be seen how temperatures will heal and help bond these various layers or create more problems.
