Becker Ridge

Warm day at Echo Summit - literally tee shirt weather and ridgetop winds were calm to light. Warm slopes were moist to wet on the surface, though we never traveled anywhere steep enough to observe wet loose instabilities. The N aspect of Becker Ridge had a thin crust on the surface, transitioning from melt back to freeze in the afternoon.  Facets right under this thin crust were inconsistent in depth due to recent winds. Facets below that, among the holiday facet/crust combos, remained weak but without a slab above them. Small column tests produced sudden planar results but ECTs did not propagate.
