Quick report
Settled snow from previous storm a couple days ago was shallow/poky below 8k ft, minor roller balls formed down below this elevation, where the temperature seemed to be moderating while the sun was waning with the incoming storm. Above 8k ft, The snowpack was dry, and in better shape.

Overcast/cloudy, 28F at the road, a bit colder up high with some light flurries presaging the incoming storm.
Snowpack
Dug a quick pit. Fresh. dry 20cm settled snow from the 1/9 to 1/10 storm. Then older snow, various crusts in bottom half of the snowpack. CT27 failed on the deep PWL(~15cm). However, the point of most concern seems to be what I surmise is the more recent PWL (likely Jan 2)- a very hard crust 40cm from ground where ECT17 failed across the entire column, slid several cm on 23 bed degree plane.
