Quick report

Cracking
specific

Recent snowfall was very heavy and wet at lower elevations, with poor bonding to the underlying ice/tree crud. Higher up it was deeper and a bit more powdery, but once you get into the burn zone the wind was blowing and depositing an impressive amount of snow onto the ridge I was skinning up. Noticed the wind slab cracking next to my skin track and noped out of there even though the slope was in theory not steep enough to slide. Two skiers passed me as I was transitioning and they also turned around when I pointed out the avalanche problem.
