Quick report
Cornice failure. Above an avalanche path that runs regularly there is a large cornice that I have never seen fail. Maybe it has before, but I'd guess it hasn't at least since 2010. A chunk fell yesterday or this morning. It made a deep impression on impact and then broke up and slid across the surface to the bottom of the slope. Did not appear to trigger further avalanche.
