Crystal Backcountry: Boundary Bowl/Party Knoll

Beautiful clear, cold morning for a quick tour into the Crystal BC. Nice refresh to the backcountry with 4-6" of low density snow on a firm base. Toured up to Boundary Bowl, on a nice fresh canvas. Old skin-tracks and ski tracks covered by the new snow. No sloughing observed. Watched a snowboarder drop some steeper slopes near Chickenwing and it looked good. Ski quality was excellent and it remained cold all morning. Someone had a dug a test pit at the base of FF Forest the day before and not filled in the hole properly leaving a pretty big crater right in the main ski path. Please fill in your pits properly. Hazy clouds started coming in early afternoon.
