Quick report
Out glassing for wet slabs to track the progress of avalanche activity during this big warm up. We observed 3 fresh large slab avalanches today in the Sawtooths and widespread wet loose activity. Temperatures registered up to 55*F on the truck thermometer while driving through the Salmon River Valley and were around 50*F at Banner Summit!

Some gouging was observed with wet loose avalanches in steeper confined terrain. Also, a sheen across the landscape indicating a moist surface was easily observable by midday.

Observed 3 fresh wet slab avalanches not mentioned in previous observations. Two on Cabin Peak and one on McGowan. We also observed widespread wet loose activity, whose debris may appear large but is often just fanned out on aprons.
