Quick report

We dug a pit at 7400 ft on an ENE slope along the divide, a few hundred feet below ridgeline. Total height of snow 150 cm. ECTN11 40 cm down on a prominent ice layer from the early December pineapple express. The rest of the snowpack seemed solid and no layers presented when the block was pried from the pit wall. There was not prominent depth hoar. We traveled far at elevations between 5750 and 8000' and did not experience any cracking or whoomphing. Snowmobilers had done a good job at testing the south and southeast slopes with similar results.
