- <p>Recent human triggered avalanches in the last 48 hours. Heavy snowfall in the last 48 hours with a bump in wind speeds overnight and during the day. Cracking and collapsing noted in our group today and poor structure in our snowpits. The mountains are talking to us, and low angle love is the name of the game. </p>

- <p>The problem is apparent with recent natural and human triggered avalanches and the management strategy is simple. Avoid slopes where the PWL exists. Everywhere I have dug snow pits in the last few days shows the poor structure and I am hearing reports of poor structure on some solar aspects as well. The storm initially began with higher densities and created a small 4 finger slab on top of the NSF layer. That higher density snow is just stiff enough to allow for propagation out of the wind zone. On leeward slopes and terrain features the problem is exacerbated by a more stiff slab allowing for wider and more destructive avalanches.</p> <p>Winds were sustained at moderate speeds today and blowing out of the WNW. Notable wind drifting observed throughout the day. </p>
