Quick report

On Monday and Tuesday mornings, overnight temperatures remained well above freezing at upper elevations, and we observed thin surface refreezes that quickly broke down in the sun. On Sunday, the crust below the recent storm snow was thick and difficult to shovel through, and by yesterday, we observed it softening and beginning to break down. Yesterday afternoon, skiing conditions were sloppy. Widespread small to large wet loose avalanches observed on all aspects observed since Saturday (4/18). Yesterday (4/21), we observed glide avalanches up to size 2.5. We observed multiple glide avalanches in paths visible from The Loop that released sometime between 6PM Monday (4/20) and 9AM Tuesday (4/21), and one above the Going-to-the-Sun Road that released between 2PM Monday and 9AM Tuesday. We also observed a glide avalanche during the morning of 4/21 that put 12 ft of debris on the road.
