Quick report

12-15 inches of dry storm snow on N facing aspects from this last week. Snow pack right side up. Other than the dry loose problem noted, we observed no instability. Noted a dry loose avalanche on Skook Chutes, natural, D1, R1, ran approximately 100ft.

Snowpack

Total snow depth on ridge at 6400’ was 265cm. 2/3 crust was 97cm down. Isolated surface hoar on east facing ridge at approximately 6300’ that was largely flattened.

First and second riders on slope triggered dry loose avalanches that ran approximately 75’ and 10’ wide, entrained surface snow. No one caught or carried, both rode out of slides without incident.
