Quick report
Left Gully was highly wind affected. The climbers left of Left Gully was very hard pack, and the right of Left Gully (the area that had previously been very wind loaded last weekend) was hard wind scoured snow above a wind lip of about 1-2’ that ran down the center of the gully. We climbed the left side, which was harder pack, but wouldn’t have done so without boot crampons and an ice axe. We transitioned before the middle choke (because above the middle choke was all the same sort of wind scour we experienced on the climbers right side of the lower section). Skiing down, Skiers right was hard pack so we skied down this way (mostly jump turns) before traversing over the weird wind lip. While the skier’s left portion seemed stable, there was a bit of cracking on the top 3 or 4 inches (pictured). We saw two other skiers doing chute and a bunch of folks doing right gully. Lots of groups going up Hillman’s (sp?) and skiing down. Probably would’ve opted for Hillman’s or right gully given today’s conditions. Sherb was great; on skis car to car.
