Putting the ski track in up west Scottie's this afternoon (04/01) I noticed some instability within the storm snow with cracking propagating from the skis.
This storm has gained us around 14" of right side up snow!
We performed an ECT on a 35 degree slope W facing at 8900ft on West Scotties. We got results of ECTP1 10" down. The propagation and shear was clean on what appeared to be a small faceted layer within the storm snow.
We changed our plans accordingly and skied out to the car.
see attached photo for a picture of the shear.
