Weather

Light southerly wind was constant all day with moderate gusts moving snow near and above treeline. Temps were below freezing and sky was overcast until the afternoon when the clouds began to break up a bit. It snowed lightly all day.

Snowpack

The new snow was bonding with the near surface facets and storm snow from Monday's storm. The Thanksgiving slab is gaining strength but sitting on a temperature crust with 1mm facets above and below it. The lower snowpack is faceting and fist hard (on the hand hardness scale) down to the harder crusts on the ground. I did not find propagating results on the crust-facet layer under the slab. Near treeline in open areas wind slabs were just beginning to form as snow was deposited on northeast through northwest slopes. Visibility was low above treeline, no wind slab or cornice observations at that elevation.
