Quick report
Snow line was at the first Hamongog, just a dusting below. Between 9k and 11k there was 6-8 inches of new dense powder snow. Drifting has created uneven distribution making it hard to get an accurate snow depth reading (90-130 cm at 9500') but there is significantly less total snow depth than a stones throw away in little cottonwood canyon. Hand pits revealed significant grauple pooling from yesterdays storm, but little to no facets buried in the snowpack on the south facing slope. Took a look into Bells canyon expecting to see evidence of natural avalanche activity from the past few days of wind and snow but saw none. Minimal wind and cloud cover protected the snow surface today, so riding conditions should remain excellent tomorrow. Our observed danger rating is reflective only of the south facing slope we were on.
