Quick report

We stepped it out cautiously. Temps remained cold enough throughout the day, making travel fast on a strong, supportable crust. Skiing was marginal in the trees and on shaded aspects, with only the steepest slopes warming enough late in the day for a few decent turns. This was the final day of our season-long Rec 2, and the tour was student-led. What a great day to end the class with sun and great visibility. Great job crew! Anticipated seeing rollerball activity in Skook's Chutes late in the day, returning to WMR. We didn't see anything moving at all.

High scattered clouds came in mid-day, contributing to the firm conditions that maintained on shaded aspects and in the trees.

Snowpack

We did not dig due to the length of the tour, but surface conditions remained firm all day except for the steepest southerly aspects.
