Ghoulie ridge on Whitefish Mountain

Quick report

Dug a pit on the N aspect of the top of Ghoulie ridge. Found powder or light pack on top down to a crust layer 30cm down that sloped down to 50cm indicating rain had deposited variably with the recent wind events. Within the 5cm crusty rain layer we found debris and unstable large sugary facets. Below this was well consolidated until the last dozen cm above the ground which was wet and thick sugar. ECT was negative. CT 13 @23

Avalanche

Observed a crown on a NE facing aspect of Ghoulie ridge. The crown began just below the top of the ridge on an small open area above thick trees. The slide probably occurred yesterday
