Cold weather post storm. Hoar frost from 7800-8800’ on the surface. A very touchy early snowpack which should be approached with caution. I’d remain out of avalanche terrain. Consistent collapsing on tour up. At about 8400’ the collapsing was notably louder and more widespread.

Cold temperatures with light wind allowed for generalized hoar frost which could pose future avalanche problems.
Snowpack
snow pack was 50cm or less around 7800’. At 8600’ the snow pack on north aspects was anywhere from 60cm to 120cm with wind deposits.
Avalanche
Distant crown on an East facing aspect. Likely occurred during last storm from with the development of a wind slab.
