Mt Clifty

The wet, heavy snowfall and strong winds were forming stiff Storm Slabs at lower and mid elevations. Some drifts were around 2 feet deep. The strong winds were scouring windward slopes and made travel tough along ridges and as we climbed near 6,000 feet. Rain over the weekend percolated around two feet deep near 4,500 feet and around 8 inches to a foot as we approached 5,500 feet. The wetted snow is weak (4F) and punchy as it appears it didn't undergo a solid refreeze. The JDL (4F- to F) down 3 or so feet deep is still dry where we poked around.

Lots of cracking and natural cornice caving in fresh formations.
