Quick report

Small avalanche triggered - unintentional, wind slab breaking on ice crust

Avalanche

Climbed up climbers left of left gully to approximately 5,000 feet. Boot penetration into wind slab was generally ankle deep. No collapsing or cracking observed while climbing up and snow was generally unreactive to stomping. However, hand shears were able to be pulled clean with some force required. Transitioned at 5,000, skied conservatively hugging right side. Triggered R1 D1 coming out of choke breaking on ice crust beneath wind slab. Slide was relatively small and easy to avoid being caught.
