S1 snowfall with Moderate W winds (Obs reported N winds, hence the Bowl was probably creating that "swirling" effect).
Snowpack
On ascent up TRT, MF crust was noted under a few cm of new snow up to 2700' ASL. Lion Head gullies had generous coverage including Connection Gully and R-Cubed. History has shown these get loaded with strong E winds during a snow event hence no surprise. HS 310cm with 50cm wind slab over MF crust. Snow temps: TSurf: -3.0, 10 Down -4.0, 20 Down -5.0, 30 Down -5.0, 40 Down -3.5, 50 Down -3.0. A thin MF crust was noted 25cm down. CTM Score 13 PC Q2 on 25cm Down MF crust; ECTN Score 13 propagated 50cm across. Hand shears on a nearby wind roll/"mini-cornice" were stubborn Q3.
