Snowboarder unintentionally triggered a slab avalanche this morning just before 9am. Snowboarder was the second one down the chute, following a skier. It ran the full length of the chute, about 800ft. Snowboarder was caught and carried the full distance, ending up on top after it stopped, with no sustained injuries.

It is believed to been triggered due to a wind slab sitting on a rock bed surface. The snowboarder made one turn approx 5' above the wind slab, and it propagated along the whole upper part of the chute. A shelf of snow collapsed, falling down the chute as a cohesive slab until it reached the choke. It left a firm surface for the last person to descend, leading to believe is slid on the old bed surface.
