Quick report

Had an enjoyable low angle day skiing off of Herman Saddle both east and west aspects. In the early morning the new snow (approx 6-8in depending on location) was only semi wet and produced great skiing. The sun came out around 10am and started warming the snow pack rapidly. All aspects started shedding the new snow, roller balls entraining lots of snow and point releases were abundant. The snow that wasn’t steep enough to shed got heavier as the day went on feeling very slushy on our way out.

Avalanche

Saw many naturally triggered point release avalanches both dry and wet on the new storm layer. Basically every slope over 35 degrees was sloughing off snow as the sun came out and started warming the snowpack. Saw one large slab avalanche on the north face by side of Iceberg bowl coming off of table mountain. Crown looked to be on the new storm layer and propagated quite a ways
