Quick report
Continuous snow starts at 3kft in Silver Creek. We found breakable crust that supported snowshoes saturday morning 3500ft - 6kft on south and SE aspects, changing to firm icy surface 6kft - 7kft. Steep north face between 7kft - 8kft had mix of knee-deep powder, or thin wind slab on top. We saw one wide crown on a steep NE aspect at 8kft that looked fresh, maybe wind slab. By Saturday afternoon south faces were slushy with rollerballs and pinwheels forming. Small loose wet slides occurred saturday late morning to afternoon on steep south and east faces.
Avalanche
Fresh wide crown observed on steep NE aspect at 8000ft, possible wind slab. Many small loose wet avalanches on steep NE aspect 8000ft - 8800ft sliding in morning saturday. Small loose dry sluffs on steep North aspect 8kft Saturday morning. More small loose wet slides early afternoon Saturday on steep south faces 6kft - 7kft and NE faces 5kft - 7kft.
