Mostly overcast and snowing. Periods of clouds thinning and even sun breaks. Moderate westerly gusts at ridgetops. HN24, new snow amounts 5,300ft: 35cm 4600ft: 26cm 4,000ft: 0cm,
Snowpack
There was minimal new snow accumulation below 4,500ft. The new snow was moist enough that triggering small slides below 5,000ft was relatively easy.
At a profile site above Skyline Lake, 5,300ft, ENE, the height of snow was 270cm. I found 35cm of new snow that was moist. The 4/2 crust was 10cm thick, 1F+ hard, and 51cm below the surface. Below this, the majority of the snowpack was moist to wet, unfrozen, and relatively weak (4 Finger).
Avalanche
The new snow slid easily on test slopes below 5,000ft. There were a handful of fresh avalanches in the new snow within the Stevens Pass Resort boundary. Visibility wasn't good enough to see details other than debris piles
