Snowpack seemed well drained at the low and mid elevations from what I could tell from a near-3pm start. No melt-layer recrys. from observations - snow seemed well bonded to underlying crusts.
Noted a number of 48 hour old size 1-1.5 new snow naturals along the highest northerly aspects of the Cottonwood Ridgeline - mostly just adjacent to the Athey Line in the middle bowls. A couple older wet slabs from a couple days ago with the rain pulling some unsupported slabs off the quartzite slabs just north of Lake Blanche - size 2 debris pile.
Able to skin from the S-curves and return on skis back to the car.
Snowpack
Sierra cement though consistent.
