Quick report

Observed moist snow as far down as we dug, 140cm from surface. The snowpack is isothermal, meaning that the snow's temperature is uniformly zero degrees Celsius thoughout. However, there are still distinct layers within the upper snowpack, including weak wet snow over the 3/19 crust. In the afternoon we did see roller balls that we initiated grow to impressive size and gouge deeply into the surface. Maintaining respect for the potential for wet loose and wet slab avalanches in steep terrain is appropriate while we remain in this prolonged period of above freezing temperatures.
