Quick report
We skied north aspects in Silver basin. On the approach, we found a firm punchy crust below 6000 feet that made for challenging skiing. Above 6300, the crust was much thinner with dry snow underneath, and made for surprisingly enjoyable skiing. Facets observed on all aspects and elevations. The N aspects did not produce any sluff, and we didn’t see any rock faces or trees actively shedding snow on any aspects. There were refrozen debris fields which looked like wet slides from the recent rain cycle.
