Lower elevation had a supportable crust (Solstice) with 3-6cm on it. As I climbed in elevation the slab grew over the crust and the winds were sustained at ridgeline from the SSE. After a couple of hours digging out the yurt, my skin track was covered and snow was completely eroded down to the Solstice crust on south facing slopes. Ridgelines were forming slabs of drifted snow. I caused a large traveling collapse after jumping down off the sauna roof onto the pile of snow.
Weather
Brief snow showers from 0800-9000 and then it really turned on around 1115. Winds were sustained from the SSE. By the time I drove back down Baker, snow was wet and heavy. It changed over to rain near Chocolate Gulch.
Snowpack
Large column tests produced ECTN7 x 2 above the Solstice crust (12/21) and nothing on the Nov. facets (12/5). Cross and Propagation Saw Tests produced 25/110 END and 26/110 END on the 12/5 facets with a hefty slab on top of it. Besides the Solstice crust, three other crusts were stacked together above the Nov. facets.
