Winds from Saturday/Sunday storm did a good bit of work in this area, building stiff drifts in many exposed locations and eroding down to 12/6 layer in others. I got some cracking and collapsing associated with these slabs. The presence of weak snow near the base of the snowpack continues to drive
I experienced cracking and collapsing in stiff wind drifts along ridgelines from Saturday's storm. I did not experience any cracking/collapsing involving our basal weak layerWeather

Snowpack
As observed elsewhere, the current snow surface is a beautiful mess. Things are particularly weak and complex at lower and the low end of middle elevations. Here, the effects of both inverted temperatures and warm temps/rain during storms are present. Find a stack of crusts with intercalated facets, some stray SH (wilted), all on a stack of well-developed FCsf with a crust underneath. With very light, sputtery precip interspersed with periods of drought ongoing, expect this surface/package to continue to develop and change.
