- <p>Generally no red flags, but the south winds appeared to be on the increase and moving some of the low density snow around into fresh shallow drifts. I was able to get a very small soft wind slab to break out about 30' wide and 10" deep. I would think there are some places where these wind drifts are possible to trigger along the north side of the compass and in more exposed terrain.</p>
I always try and use this pretty good test slope to see what the winds have been doing. This pocket was only 10" deep and maybe 30' wide and was a soft wind slab, but it was a good indication of possibly some deeper and wider slabs higher up.
A few photos of some natural avalanches that took place during the recent storm this week. Some of the debris piles were fairly deep.

Thursdays storm snow has settled into some very nice dense powder with a few areas of wind textured snow. I did not get high on any ridge lines so not sure what conditions might be at that elevation. The snow held up great around the compass even with the warming temperatures.
