Quick report
We went up to the TJ bowl area to look for fresh turns and avoid any wind slabs. Many small and large natural wind slab avalanches were observed, breaking primarily from loaded terrain right below the crest and steeper cross loaded features. HN ~25-50cm depending on wind deposits. Roughly ankle deep ski pen, skied kind of like groomer pow. Top layer was mostly cohesionless graupel and rimed snow atop a denser layer of new snow. Wind affect was very present above treeline and transport was occurring at all elevations. Our skin track was filled in partly on the way out. Stability wise, we felt safe avoiding areas along the windloaded crest where crowns were visible and sticking to slightly less steep terrain It was quite breezy all day with cold temps and broken clouds snow in northerly aspects was cold and skied great, by the end of the day a small crust had formed on more solar aspects.
