Quick report
I went up during the sunniest part of the day to check out conditions after our skiff of new snow last night. Unfortunately this coincided with the windiest part of the day as well. IM SNOTEL won the Bronze with reported 28mph gusts, Marmot won Silver at 32mph, and topping the podium with Gold was Hatch at 46mph. Snow was blowing straight up Dylan’s Molar, ablating the cornices. Most of the tracks from the past several days were obliterated, leaving a blank canvas of wind slabs, scoured ridges, and dappled powder on protected low angle slopes. The skiff of new snow was mostly graupel. No formal tests conducted. On the slopes I travelled stability was excellent with no whumphing, cracking, or other signs of instability. No new avalanches observed. The new windslabs were pretty soft and I had fun skiing. This might not be the case in more exposed areas.
