- <p>Whoomphing was observed twice on the saddles between Soldier and Big Water Peaks. Whoomphing was also observed multiple times on our exit through Butler Fork along creek beds and hillsides along the summer trail. We observed a small, old slide on the hillside along the summer trail near the trailhead (see photo).</p>

Snowpack
Snow on the saddle was about 2' deep. The top 12" were dense. The bottom 12" were completely faceted and loose (see photo below). Our ECT failed on isolation.
