Abundant sunshine. Wind was enough to stave off warming at mid and upper elevations, but not enough to drift recent snowfall.

Snowpack

Found 4 to 6 inches of snow from the midweek storm up to about 6,400 feet. This sits above a global crust of varying thickness. Even due north-facing slopes had a faint melt-freeze crust capping a layer of decomposing surface hoar. We dug a quick pit on a north-facing slope at 6,100 feet and noted the following: The February 23-24 rain event crust (~ 2 cm thick) was down around 45 to 50 cm with mostly dry snow below the crust. The slab above is mostly 1F to P- with a few subtle differences in layering - but nothing glaring. Minor faceting at these subtle layer changes in the top 30 cm. We did not observe discernable test results in the top 70 cm in our north-facing snowpit at 6,100 feet. We easily triggered small loose dry sluffs in the new snow with ski pressure, but they lacked enought volume to be too concerning. However, they did travel quick down the slope and definitely something to manage for if traveling in more complex/ extreme terrain.
