Quick report

Went out to check out Kwolh yesterday afternoon. It was tricky getting through the sled tunnel, with all the new snow that thing is getting pretty sketchy! Conditions out at Kwolh were great. Definitely consolidated some since the storm, but still deeeeeep. Skinning up through the trees was almost bottomless, like pushing poles in to almost the handle. The upper more exposed part was more like a foot or two on top of a hard layer. Interestingly below the top 100 feet or so there was zero wind (when some lifts at Bachy were going on wind hold). There was evidence of some wind transport on the upper part of the open face but not too bad, no huge cornices forming like some other areas. No cracks or settlement or anything while skinning. Upper half of the face was a little more variable due to the wind affect but still very good, no cohesive slabs other than maybe the last day's snow. Lower half was all-time. Got to figure-8 my own powsurf track which doesn't happen every day :). Got stuck in the sled tunnel on the way back, spent a good amount of time digging out and then making it a little better for the next person, of course that may be moot now that we're getting even MORE snow. Not complaining!
