Quick report
No signs of instability were noted in our travels today. Although it was storming, the warm snow/rain in the mid and lower elevations did not seem to pose a substantial avalanche hazard. It was sorta soggy potatoes top to bottom out there. No red flags

Drizzling rain at the car when we departed. Rained turned to snow around 1500’. Light NE winds throughout the day. Overall warm and wet. No visibility above treeline. Wet snow at the car when we returned at the end of the day.
Snowpack
Around an inch of wet new snow at the road. Snow was accumulating in the trees around 1500’ and up to 16” of new snow at treeline. The snow dried out some with elevation however remained moist/wet at treeline. We dug a snow pit on a NE aspect at treeline, 2350’, in a protected area. Total snowpack was 180 cm, with around 50 cm new snow. We performed a series of snowpack test with no instabilities noted. There was buried surface hoar down 60 cm but it was unreactive. The entirety of the snowpack was moist other than the few ice crusts in the lower portion.
