Quick report

Red Flags
Wind Loading, Cracking

HN was 10 cm at 9000'. The new snow was low density and was being blown around by L to M winds from the NE. There was a whiteout above 9000' that was restricting vision to about 25 m. I found wind drifts on W aspects that were producing cracks, but they were not very cohesive and only existed just off of the ridgeline. There was rime on trees above 9000' indicating a prolonged NE wind. I did not notice any new snow instabilities or storm slab formation. I observed low danger at the mid and lower elevations, but did not explore the upper elevation band where the wind slab problem was likely more prevalent.
