Quick report
Natural avalanche activity on Mount Whetstone visible just before sunset. Most terrain around Crested Butte was obscured from cloud cover, but Whetstone had just enough visibility to identify a few natural slides.

Numerous smaller avalanches were visible on Mount Whetstone. All occurred on slopes with active wind loading on north and easterly aspects. I'm pretty sure there were other avalanches present on the Whetstone massif but the light quality was poor. All looked to be smaller than D2 size but better visibility tomorrow will tell the full story.
