Quick report

4 to 6 inches of soft, weak snow exists on the surface on northerly aspects, sheltered from the wind. These near-surface facets could become problematic if they linger until the next significant loading event. On solar aspects, we found a variable melt-freeze crust resting above a thinner layer of soft snow. Upper-elevation slopes with more wind exposure still hold a variety of wind-sculpted and scoured surfaces.
