Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Dug a pit on the western slope of Hangover Hill around 5500'. During an isolated column test, I observed a sudden collapse on a melt-freeze layer about 20cm deep in the snowpack. There was a total of about 20cm of new snow above two melt-freeze layers. Also experienced isolated collapsing on the skin up. Overall impression was a stable snowpack.
